Troubleshooting Medidata

Ran into an application (circa 2001) designed to run on Windows XP. Got it working under Windows 10 after making several changes. First, set the target installation folder to c:\Program Files instead of C:\Program Files (x86). Second, edited the Windows registry to appropriate UNC paths referencing data locations on the server. Afterwards the application and data file(s) loaded successfully.

Note: this is an example where little used techniques worked to allow a modern operating system (Windows 10) to soldier on as the customer's vertical market software solution.
